How To Install xfce4-hdaps on Debian 9

What is xfce4-hdaps
xfce4-hdaps is:
A plugin to indicate the status of the IBM Hard Drive Active Protection System (HDAPS) in the Xfce4 panel.
This plugin only supports the new hard drive parking interface present in kernels 2.6.28 and newer.
There are three methods to install xfce4-hdaps
on Debian 9. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install xfce4-hdaps Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install xfce4-hdaps
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install xfce4-hdaps
Install xfce4-hdaps Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install xfce4-hdaps
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install xfce4-hdaps
Install xfce4-hdaps Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install xfce4-hdaps
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install xfce4-hdaps
How To Uninstall xfce4-hdaps on Debian 9
To uninstall only the xfce4-hdaps
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove xfce4-hdaps
Uninstall xfce4-hdaps And Its Dependencies
To uninstall xfce4-hdaps
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove xfce4-hdaps
Remove xfce4-hdaps Configurations and Data
To remove xfce4-hdaps
configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge xfce4-hdaps
Remove xfce4-hdaps configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
