How To Install trinity on Debian 9
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install trinity on Debian 9.
What is trinity
trinity is:
As ‘fuzz testing’ suggests, trinity calls syscalls at random, with random arguments. Where Trinity differs is that the arguments it passes are not purely random.
If a syscall took, for example, a file descriptor as an argument, one of the first things kernels does is validate that fd, if is not valid the kernel would just reject it as -EINVAL.
So on startup, Trinity creates a list of file descriptors, by opening pipes, scanning sysfs, procfs, /dev, and creates a bunch of sockets using random network protocols. Then when a syscall needs an fd, it gets passed one of these at random.
Trinity also shares those file descriptors between multiple threads, which causes havoc sometimes.
Warning: This program may seriously corrupt your files, including any of those that may be writable on mounted network file shares. It may create network packets that may cause disruption on your local network. Run at your own risk.
There are three methods to install trinity on Debian 9. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install trinity Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install trinity using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install trinity

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install trinity using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install trinity
Install trinity Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install trinity using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install trinity
How To Uninstall trinity on Debian 9
To uninstall only the trinity package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove trinity
Uninstall trinity And Its Dependencies
To uninstall trinity and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove trinity
Remove trinity Configurations and Data
To remove trinity configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge trinity
Remove trinity configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
