What is isatapd

isatapd is:

isatapd creates and maintains an ISATAP client tunnel (RFC 5214) in Linux.

It uses the in-kernel ISATAP support first introduced in linux-2.6.25. It does NOT operate the tunnel or handle any IPv6 traffic, it only sets up the tunnel parameters, the Potential Router List, sends periodic router solicitations and tries to detect link changes.

There are three methods to install isatapd on Debian 11. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install isatapd Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install isatapd using apt-get by running the following command:
