python3-gdal is:
GDAL is a translator library for raster geospatial data formats. As a library, it presents a single abstract data model to the calling application for all supported formats. GDAL supports 40+ popular data formats, including commonly used ones (GeoTIFF, JPEG, PNG and more) as well as the ones used in GIS and remote sensing software packages (ERDAS Imagine, ESRI Arc/Info, ENVI, PCI Geomatics). There are three methods to install python3-gdal

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude

After updating apt database, We can install python3-gdal
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install python3-gdal
How To Uninstall python3-gdal on Debian 9
To uninstall only the python3-gdal
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove python3-gdal
Uninstall python3-gdal And Its Dependencies
To uninstall python3-gdal
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove python3-gdal
Remove python3-gdal Configurations and Data
To remove python3-gdal
configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge python3-gdal
Remove python3-gdal configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
