How To Install python-liblas on Debian 9

What is python-liblas
python-liblas is:
libLAS is a C/C++ library for reading and writing ASPRS LAS versions 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2 data. The LAS format is a sequential binary format used to store data from sensors and as intermediate processing storage by some LiDAR-related applications. LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) is an optical remote sensing technology that measures properties of scattered light to find range and/or other information of a distant target. The prevalent method to determine distance to an object or surface is to use laser pulses.
This package contains a Python module to use libLAS.
There are three methods to install python-liblas
on Debian 9. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install python-liblas Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install python-liblas
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install python-liblas
Install python-liblas Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install python-liblas
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install python-liblas
Install python-liblas Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install python-liblas
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install python-liblas
How To Uninstall python-liblas on Debian 9
To uninstall only the python-liblas
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove python-liblas
Uninstall python-liblas And Its Dependencies
To uninstall python-liblas
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove python-liblas
Remove python-liblas Configurations and Data
To remove python-liblas
configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge python-liblas
Remove python-liblas configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
