How To Install linpsk on Debian 10
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install linpsk on Debian 10.
What is linpsk
linpsk is:
linpsk is a program for operating on amateur radio digital modes. linpsk currently supports BPSK, QPSK, and RTTY modes, and it provides an X user interface. linpsk’s main features are:
- simultaneous decoding of up to four channels
- different digital modes may be mixed
- trigger text can be defined on each channel
- each channel can be logged to a file
- user-defined macros and two files for larger texts
- spectrum and waterfall displays, both scalable in the frequency domain. At the Moment RTTY only supports 45 baud and 1.5 stopbits.
There are three methods to install linpsk on Debian 10. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install linpsk Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install linpsk using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install linpsk
Install linpsk Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install linpsk using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install linpsk
Install linpsk Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install linpsk using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install linpsk
How To Uninstall linpsk on Debian 10
To uninstall only the linpsk package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove linpsk
Uninstall linpsk And Its Dependencies
To uninstall linpsk and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 10, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove linpsk
Remove linpsk Configurations and Data
To remove linpsk configuration and data from Debian 10 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge linpsk
Remove linpsk configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove linpsk configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge linpsk
