What is rzip

rzip is:

rzip is a compression program able to take advantage of long distance redundancies in files, allowing greater compression ratios. rzip uses a history buffer of up to 900MB, while gzip uses 32KB and bzip2 uses 900KB. rzip cannot read from the standard input or write to the standard output.

This package provides rzip and runzip commands.

There are three methods to install rzip on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install rzip Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install rzip using apt-get by running the following command:
