How To Install logtools on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install logtools
on Kali Linux.
What is logtools
logtools is:
clfmerge - merge common-log-format web logs in order without sorting (good for when you have a gig of logs).
logprn - like “tail -f” but after a specified time period of inactivity will run a program (such as lpr) and pipe the new data to it)
funnel - pipe one stream of data to several files or processes.
clfsplit - split CLF format web logs by client IP address.
clfdomainsplit - split CLF logs by server domain.
There are three methods to install logtools
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install logtools Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install logtools
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install logtools

After updating apt database, We can install logtools
