How To Install libstdc++6 on Kali Linux

What is libstdc++6

libstdc++6 is:

This package contains an additional runtime library for C++ programs built with the GNU compiler.

libstdc++-v3 is a complete rewrite from the previous libstdc++-v2, which was included up to g++-2.95. The first version of libstdc++-v3 appeared in g++-3.0.

There are three methods to install libstdc++6 on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install libstdc++6 using apt-get by running the following command:

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install libstdc++6 using apt by running the following command:

Install libstdc++6 Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install libstdc++6 using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install libstdc++6

To uninstall only the libstdc++6 package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove libstdc++6

To uninstall libstdc++6 and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove libstdc++6

Remove libstdc++6 Configurations and Data

To remove libstdc++6 configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge libstdc++6

Remove libstdc++6 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove libstdc++6 configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
