In this tutorial we learn how to install osgearth on Fedora 36.
What is osgearth
osgEarth is a C++ terrain rendering SDK. Just create a simple XML file, point it at your imagery, elevation, and vector data, load it into your favorite OpenSceneGraph application, and go! osgEarth supports all kinds of data and comes with lots of examples to help you get up and running quickly and easily.
We can use yum or dnf to install osgearth on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install osgearth.
Install osgearth on Fedora 36 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install osgearth using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install osgearth
Install osgearth on Fedora 36 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install osgearth using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install osgearth
How To Uninstall osgearth on Fedora 36
To uninstall only the osgearth package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove osgearth
