What is mod_suphp

suPHP is an Apache module for executing PHP scripts with the permissions of their owners. It consists of an Apache module (mod_suphp) and a setuid root binary (suphp) that is called by the Apache module to change the uid of the process executing the PHP interpreter. We can use yum or dnf to install mod_suphp on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install mod_suphp.

Install mod_suphp on Fedora 36 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install mod_suphp using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install mod_suphp

Install mod_suphp on Fedora 36 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install mod_suphp using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install mod_suphp

How To Uninstall mod_suphp on Fedora 36

To uninstall only the mod_suphp package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove mod_suphp
