What is gsi-openssh-server

OpenSSH is a free version of SSH (Secure SHell), a program for logging into and executing commands on a remote machine. This package contains the secure shell daemon (sshd). The sshd daemon allows SSH clients to securely connect to your SSH server. This version of OpenSSH has been modified to support GSI authentication.

We can use yum or dnf to install gsi-openssh-server on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install gsi-openssh-server.

Install gsi-openssh-server on Fedora 36 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install gsi-openssh-server using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install gsi-openssh-server

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install gsi-openssh-server using yum by running the following command:
