What is gr-osmosdr

Primarily gr-osmosdr supports the OsmoSDR hardware, but it also offers a wrapper functionality for FunCube Dongle, Ettus UHD and rtl-sdr radios. By using gr-osmosdr source you can take advantage of a common software api in your application(s) independent of the underlying radio hardware.

We can use yum or dnf to install gr-osmosdr on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install gr-osmosdr.

Install gr-osmosdr on Fedora 36 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install gr-osmosdr using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install gr-osmosdr

Install gr-osmosdr on Fedora 36 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install gr-osmosdr using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install gr-osmosdr

How To Uninstall gr-osmosdr on Fedora 36

To uninstall only the gr-osmosdr package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove gr-osmosdr
