How To Install wabt on Fedora 34
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install wabt
on Fedora 34.
What is wabt
WABT (we pronounce it “wabbit”) is a suite of tools for WebAssembly. These tools are intended for use in (or for development of) toolchains or other systems that want to manipulate WebAssembly files. Unlike the WebAssembly spec interpreter (which is written to be as simple, declarative and “speccy” as possible), they are written in C/C++ and designed for easier integration into other systems. Unlike Binaryen these tools do not aim to provide an optimization platform or a higher-level compiler target; instead they aim for full fidelity and compliance with the spec (e.g. 1
We can use yum
or dnf
to install wabt
on Fedora 34. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install wabt.
Install wabt on Fedora 34 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:
Fedora 34 - x86_64 20 kB/s | 6.6 kB 00:00

After updating yum database, We can install wabt
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install wabt
Install wabt on Fedora 34 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
