How To Install samdump2 on Fedora 34

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install samdump2 on Fedora 34.

What is samdump2

This tool is designed to recover the syskey bootkey from Windows NT/2K/XP/Vista system hive and uses it to decrypt and dump password hashes from the SAM hive.

We can use yum or dnf to install samdump2 on Fedora 34. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install samdump2.

Install samdump2 on Fedora 34 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install samdump2 using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install samdump2

How To Uninstall samdump2 on Fedora 34
