What is epstool

Epstool is a utility to create or extract preview images in EPS files, fix bounding boxes and convert to bitmaps. Features * Add EPSI, DOS EPS or Mac PICT previews. * Extract PostScript from DOS EPS files. * Uses Ghostscript to create preview bitmaps. * Create a TIFF, WMF, PICT or Interchange preview from part of a bitmap created by Ghostscript. * works under Win32, Win64, OS/2 and Unix. * works on little-endian machines (Intel) or big endian (Sun Sparc, Motorola) machines.

We can use yum or dnf to install epstool on Fedora 34. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install epstool.

Install epstool on Fedora 34 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install epstool using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install epstool

Install epstool on Fedora 34 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

How To Uninstall epstool on Fedora 34
