Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install ballerburg on Fedora 34.

What is ballerburg

Two castles, separated by a mountain, try to defeat each other with their cannonballs, either by killing the opponent’s king or by weakening the opponent enough so that the king capitulates. Ballerburg was originally written 1987 by Eckhard Kruse, for the Atari ST machines (which were brand new computers at that point in time). Over 25 years later, here’s finally the adaption of the original source code to modern operating systems.

We can use yum or dnf to install ballerburg on Fedora 34. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install ballerburg.

Install ballerburg on Fedora 34 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install ballerburg using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install ballerburg

How To Uninstall ballerburg on Fedora 34

To uninstall only the ballerburg package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove ballerburg
