What is gtkterm

gtkterm is:

gtkterm is a simple GTK+ terminal used to communicate with the serial port.

  • Using the termios API
  • Possible to send a file (only RAW data, no protocol)

There are three methods to install gtkterm on Debian 9. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

How To Uninstall gtkterm on Debian 9

To uninstall only the gtkterm package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove gtkterm

To uninstall gtkterm and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove gtkterm

Remove gtkterm Configurations and Data

To remove gtkterm configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge gtkterm
