How To Install cura on Ubuntu 22.04

on Ubuntu 22.04.
What is cura
cura is:
Cura converts digital 3D models (.stl and other formats) into printing instructions (G-code) for your 3D printer. It cuts the model into horizontal slices (layers), generates toolpaths to fill them and calculates the amount of material to be extruded.
Cura is easy to use for novices and provides over 200 settings to adjust for the expert. It can output G-Code for several series of 3D printers, most notably the Ultimaker.
It provides a graphical user interface. For batch mode, check out cura-engine.
There are three methods to install cura
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install cura Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install cura
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install cura
Install cura Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install cura
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install cura
Install cura Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install cura
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install cura
How To Uninstall cura on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the cura
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove cura
Uninstall cura And Its Dependencies
To uninstall cura
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove cura
Remove cura Configurations and Data
To remove cura
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge cura
Remove cura configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge cura
