How To Install gnucap on Ubuntu 22.04

on Ubuntu 22.04.
What is gnucap
gnucap is:
Gnucap is a general purpose circuit simulator. It performs nonlinear dc and transient analyses, Fourier analysis, and ac analysis linearized at an operating point. It is fully interactive and command driven. It can also be run in batch mode or as a server.
This package contains a main executable and gnucap-modelgen.
There are three methods to install gnucap
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install gnucap Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install gnucap
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install gnucap

After updating apt database, We can install gnucap
using apt

Install gnucap Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude

After updating apt database, We can install gnucap

How To Uninstall gnucap on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the gnucap
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove gnucap
Uninstall gnucap And Its Dependencies
To uninstall gnucap
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove gnucap
Remove gnucap Configurations and Data
To remove gnucap
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge gnucap
Remove gnucap configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
