What is dnsperf

dnsperf is:

dnsperf gathers accurate latency and throughput metrics for the Domain Name Service (DNS). Network operators can benchmark their naming and addressing infrastructure. dnsperf “self-paces” the DNS query load to simulate network conditions.

resperf systematically increases the query rate and monitors the response rate to simulate caching DNS services.

There are three methods to install dnsperf on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install dnsperf Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install dnsperf using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install dnsperf using apt by running the following command:

Install dnsperf Using aptitude
