How To Install nbc on Ubuntu 22.04

What is nbc
nbc is:
Next Byte Codes (NBC) is a simple language with an assembly language syntax that can be used to program LEGO’s NXT programmable brick (from the new LEGO Mindstorms NXT set).
Not eXactly C (NXC) is a high level language, similar to C, built on top of the NBC compiler. It can also be used to program the NXT brick. NXC is basically NQC for the NXT. To compile NXC programs just use the NBC compiler with source code files that have a .nxc file extension.
If you are just getting started with programming, then graphical environments such as the Mindstorms NXT software may be better choices for you. If, however, you’re a programmer and you prefer typing a few lines to drag and drop icon programming, then either NBC or NXC may be perfect for you.
There are three methods to install nbc on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install nbc Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install nbc using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install nbc
Install nbc Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install nbc using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install nbc
Install nbc Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install nbc using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install nbc
How To Uninstall nbc on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the nbc package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove nbc
Uninstall nbc And Its Dependencies
To uninstall nbc and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove nbc
Remove nbc Configurations and Data
To remove nbc configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge nbc
Remove nbc configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove nbc configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge nbc
