How To Install kbdd on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install kbdd on Kali Linux.
What is kbdd
kbdd is:
KBDD stands for keyboard daemon. It is a simple keyboard layout switching program, which is designed to run in an X11 session and remember keyboard layouts on a per-window basis. That can be very handy for a user of a non-US keyboard who does not want to jump through layouts back and forth while typing in terminals (mostly in latin) and some kind of chat (in native language). Another useful thing about KBDD is its D-Bus notification support ?? it can emit signals on layout change, thus, making it possible to create layout indicator widgets in such window managers as awesome, for example.
Users of popular desktop environments such as GNOME or KDE most likely do not need this package, as a similar functionality should be already available within their environment. This package may be of interest, however, for the users of tiling or dynamic window managers such as dwm or awesome.
There are three methods to install kbdd on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install kbdd Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install kbdd using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install kbddInstall kbdd Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install kbdd using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install kbddInstall kbdd Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install kbdd using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install kbddHow To Uninstall kbdd on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the kbdd package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove kbddUninstall kbdd And Its Dependencies
To uninstall kbdd and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove kbddRemove kbdd Configurations and Data
To remove kbdd configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge kbddRemove kbdd configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove kbdd configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge kbddDependencies
