How To Install flim on Kali Linux

What is flim

flim is:

FLIM (Faithful Library about Internet Message) is a library to provide basic functions about message representation and encoding for emacsen. It consists of following modules:

std11.el STD 11 (RFC 822) parser and utility mime.el to provide various services about MIME-entities mime-def.el Definitions about MIME format mime-parse.el MIME parser mel.el MIME encoder/decoder mel-q-ccl.el quoted-printable and Q-encoding encoder/decoder (using CCL) mel-q.el quoted-printable and Q-encoding encoder/decoder mel-u.el unofficial backend for uuencode mel-g.el unofficial backend for gzip64 eword-decode.el encoded-word decoder eword-encode.el encoded-word encoder

This package provides FLIM-LB, a variant of FLIM using lexical binding mainly maintained for Wanderlust mail/news reader.

There are three methods to install flim on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install flim Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install flim using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install flim

Install flim Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install flim using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install flim

Install flim Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install flim using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install flim

How To Uninstall flim on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the flim package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove flim

Uninstall flim And Its Dependencies

To uninstall flim and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove flim

Remove flim Configurations and Data

To remove flim configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge flim

Remove flim configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove flim configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge flim
