How To Install exult-studio on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install exult-studio on Kali Linux.

exult_studio - An editor for games using the Exult engine. ucc - Usecode compiler. cmanip - Simple commandline conf-file manipulator expack - Command line tool for creating and extracting Flex (.flx) files. Flex files are used by Ultima 7 to store most of its data. ipack - Create/extract image Flex files using the .png format. mklink - Create “linkdep1” and “linkdep2” files from usecode file. rip - Rip specific functions out of usecode. splitshp - Command line tool to take a multi-frame shp file and split it into its individual frames. shp2pcx - Command line tool to convert shp files to pcx format; the shp files can be extracted using expack. textpack - Convert text file to a Flex file. ucxt - Tool to translate usecode back into `human readable’, roughly assembly like code. The output can be presented in a variety of different format, including one which will, later, have a suitable compiler back into usecode. wuc - Wody’s Usecode Compiler.
These are all works in progress.
A GIMP plugin is provided, so that if you have the GIMP installed you can edit and create game graphics with it.
There are three methods to install exult-studio on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install exult-studio Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install exult-studio using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install exult-studioInstall exult-studio Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install exult-studio using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install exult-studioInstall exult-studio Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install exult-studio using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install exult-studioHow To Uninstall exult-studio on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the exult-studio package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove exult-studioUninstall exult-studio And Its Dependencies
To uninstall exult-studio and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove exult-studioRemove exult-studio Configurations and Data
To remove exult-studio configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge exult-studioRemove exult-studio configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove exult-studio configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge exult-studioDependencies
