Ethstatus is a console-based monitoring utility for displaying statistical data of the ethernet interface on a quantity basis. It is similar to iptraf but is meant to run as a permanent console task to monitor the network load.

There are three methods to install ethstatus on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install ethstatus Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install ethstatus using apt-get by running the following command:
