How To Install drac-dev on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install drac-dev on Kali Linux.
What is drac-dev
drac-dev is:
A daemon that dynamically updates a relay authorization map for some MTA (postfix, sendmail). It provides a way to allow legitimate users to relay mail through an SMTP server, while still preventing others from using it as a spam relay. User’s IP addresses are added to the map immediately after they have authenticated to the POP or IMAP server. By default, map entries expire after 30 minutes, but can be renewed by additional authentication. Periodically checking mail on a POP server is sufficient to do this. The POP and SMTP servers can be on different hosts.
This package contains the header file.
There are three methods to install drac-dev on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install drac-dev Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install drac-dev using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install drac-devInstall drac-dev Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install drac-dev using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install drac-devInstall drac-dev Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install drac-dev using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install drac-devHow To Uninstall drac-dev on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the drac-dev package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove drac-devUninstall drac-dev And Its Dependencies
To uninstall drac-dev and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove drac-devRemove drac-dev Configurations and Data
To remove drac-dev configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge drac-devRemove drac-dev configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove drac-dev configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge drac-devDependencies
