How To Install sniffglue on Kali Linux

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install sniffglue on Kali Linux.

What is sniffglue

sniffglue is:

sniffglue is a network sniffer written in rust. Network packets are parsed concurrently using a thread pool to utilize all cpu cores. Project goals are that you can run sniffglue securely on untrusted networks and that it must not crash when processing packets. The output should be as useful as possible by default.

This package contains the following binaries built from the Rust crate “sniffglue”:

• sniffglue

There are three methods to install sniffglue on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install sniffglue Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install sniffglue using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install sniffglue

Install sniffglue Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install sniffglue using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install sniffglue

Install sniffglue Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install sniffglue using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install sniffglue

How To Uninstall sniffglue on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the sniffglue package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove sniffglue

Uninstall sniffglue And Its Dependencies

To uninstall sniffglue and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove sniffglue

Remove sniffglue Configurations and Data

To remove sniffglue configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge sniffglue

Remove sniffglue configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
