How To Install rt-app on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install rt-app on Kali Linux.
What is rt-app
rt-app is:
rt-app is a test application that starts multiple periodic threads in order to simulate a real-time periodic load. It supports the SCHED_OTHER/SCHED_FIFO/SCHED_RR kernel mechanisms as well as the AQuoSA framework and SCHED_DEADLINE. It can be run with a simple command-line config, or a more complex set of tasks/threads configured in a (json) config file.
There are three methods to install rt-app on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install rt-app Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install rt-app using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install rt-appInstall rt-app Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install rt-app using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install rt-appInstall rt-app Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install rt-app using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install rt-appHow To Uninstall rt-app on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the rt-app package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove rt-appUninstall rt-app And Its Dependencies
To uninstall rt-app and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove rt-appRemove rt-app Configurations and Data
To remove rt-app configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge rt-appRemove rt-app configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove rt-app configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge rt-appDependencies
