How To Install iconx on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install iconx on Kali Linux.
What is iconx
iconx is:
Ideal for both complex nonnumerical applications and for situations where users need quick solutions with a minimum of programming effort, Icon is a high-level, general purpose programming language with a syntax similar to Pascal and C. Its applications include: rapid prototyping, analyzing natural languages, generating computer programs, and artificial intelligence. This package contains the Icon executor, iconx, which is needed to execute interpreted Icon programs. If you are starting from Icon source code (as opposed to precompiled `ucode’ files), you will also need the icont package, which converts your Icon source into a program that iconx can execute.
There are three methods to install iconx on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install iconx Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install iconx using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install iconxInstall iconx Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install iconx using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install iconxInstall iconx Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install iconx using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install iconxHow To Uninstall iconx on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the iconx package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove iconxUninstall iconx And Its Dependencies
To uninstall iconx and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove iconxRemove iconx Configurations and Data
To remove iconx configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge iconxRemove iconx configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove iconx configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge iconxDependencies
