How To Install xsane-gimp on CentOS 8

xsane-gimp is GIMP plug-in providing the SANE scanner interface

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install xsane-gimp on CentOS 8.

What is xsane-gimp

This package provides the regular XSane frontend for the SANE scanner interface, but it works as a GIMP plug-in. You must have GIMP installed to use this package.

We can use yum or dnf to install xsane-gimp on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install xsane-gimp.

Install xsane-gimp on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install xsane-gimp using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install xsane-gimp

How To Uninstall xsane-gimp on CentOS 8

To uninstall only the xsane-gimp package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove xsane-gimp
