How To Install xmakemol on CentOS 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install xmakemol on CentOS 8.
What is xmakemol
XMakemol is a mouse-based program, written using the LessTif widget set, for viewing and manipulating atomic and other chemical systems. It reads XYZ input and renders atoms, bonds and hydrogen bonds. Features include - Animating multiple frame files - Interactive measurement of bond lengths, bond angles and torsion angles - Control over atom/bond sizes - Exporting to Xpm, Encapsulated PostScript and XYZ formats - Toggling the visibility of groups of atoms - Editing the positions of subsets of atoms
We can use yum or dnf to install xmakemol on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install xmakemol.
Install xmakemol on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install xmakemol using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install xmakemol
