In this tutorial we learn how to install texlive-thumbpdf on CentOS 8.

What is texlive-thumbpdf

A Perl script that provides support for thumbnails in pdfTeX and dvips/ps2pdf. The script uses ghostscript to generate the thumbnails which get represented in a TeX readable file that is read by the package thumbpdf.sty to automatically include the thumbnails. This arrangement works with both plain TeX and LaTeX.

We can use yum or dnf to install texlive-thumbpdf on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install texlive-thumbpdf.

Install texlive-thumbpdf on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install texlive-thumbpdf using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install texlive-thumbpdf

How To Uninstall texlive-thumbpdf on CentOS 8

To uninstall only the texlive-thumbpdf package we can use the following command:
