Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install texlive-cite on CentOS 8.

What is texlive-cite

The package supports compressed, sorted lists of numerical citations, and also deals with various punctuation and other issues of representation, including comprehensive management of break points. The package is compatible with both hyperref and backref. The package is (unsurprisingly) part of the cite bundle of the author’s citation-related packages.

We can use yum or dnf to install texlive-cite on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install texlive-cite.

Install texlive-cite on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install texlive-cite using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install texlive-cite

How To Uninstall texlive-cite on CentOS 8

To uninstall only the texlive-cite package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove texlive-cite
