How To Install rst2txt on CentOS 8

rst2txt is Convert reStructuredText to plain text

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install rst2txt on CentOS 8.

What is rst2txt

reStructuredText is pretty-damn consumable in its raw form, but extensive use of directives and roles can hamper things or leave the document incomplete in its raw form. rst2txt allows you to work around this by evaluating the reStructuredText source and stripping it of most of its formatting. The end result is a document that’s more readable and has elements that don’t make sense in a plain text document, such as images, stripped.

We can use yum or dnf to install rst2txt on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install rst2txt.

Install rst2txt on CentOS 8 Using dnf

sudo dnf makecache --refresh
