How To Install rhnpush on CentOS 8

rhnpush is Package uploader for the Spacewalk or Red Hat Satellite Server

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install rhnpush on CentOS 8.

What is rhnpush

rhnpush uploads package headers to the Spacewalk or Red Hat Satellite servers into specified channels and allows for several other channel management operations relevant to controlling what packages are available per channel.

We can use yum or dnf to install rhnpush on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install rhnpush.

Install rhnpush on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install rhnpush using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install rhnpush

How To Uninstall rhnpush on CentOS 8

To uninstall only the rhnpush package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove rhnpush
