What is gnuplot

Gnuplot is a command-line driven, interactive function plotting program especially suited for scientific data representation. Gnuplot can be used to plot functions and data points in both two and three dimensions and in many different formats. Install gnuplot if you need a graphics package for scientific data representation. This package provides a Qt based terminal version of gnuplot.

We can use yum or dnf to install gnuplot on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install gnuplot.

Install gnuplot on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install gnuplot using dnf by running the following command:

How To Uninstall gnuplot on CentOS 8

To uninstall only the gnuplot package we can use the following command:
