What is xorp

xorp is:

XORP is the eXtensible Open Router Platform. It implements a number of routing protocols for IPv4 and IPv6 and a unified means to configure them. It is stable and fully featured enough for production use, and flexible and extensible enough to enable network research.

The following network protocols are currently supported: BGP, OSPF, RIP/RIPng, IGMP/MLD and PIM-SM.

There are three methods to install xorp on Debian 9. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install xorp Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install xorp using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install xorp

Install xorp Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install xorp using apt by running the following command:

How To Uninstall xorp on Debian 9

sudo apt-get remove xorp

sudo apt-get -y autoremove xorp

To remove xorp configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
