How To Install ustreamer on Ubuntu 22.04

What is ustreamer
ustreamer is:
µStreamer is a lightweight and very quick server to stream MJPG video from any V4L2 device to the network. All new browsers have native support of this video format, as well as most video players such as mplayer, VLC etc. µStreamer is a part of the Pi-KVM project designed to stream VGA and HDMI screencast hardware data with the highest resolution and FPS possible.
There are three methods to install ustreamer
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install ustreamer Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install ustreamer
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install ustreamer
Install ustreamer Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install ustreamer
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install ustreamer
Install ustreamer Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install ustreamer
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install ustreamer
How To Uninstall ustreamer on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the ustreamer
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove ustreamer
Uninstall ustreamer And Its Dependencies
To uninstall ustreamer
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove ustreamer
Remove ustreamer Configurations and Data
To remove ustreamer
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge ustreamer
Remove ustreamer configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove ustreamer
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge ustreamer
