What is twin

twin is:

Twin is a windowing environment with mouse support, window manager, terminal emulator and networked clients, all inside a text display. It supports a variety of displays:

  • plain text terminals (any termcap/ncurses compatible terminal, Linux console, twin’s own terminal emulator);
  • X11, where it can be used as a multi-window xterm;
  • itself (you can display a twin on another twin);
  • twdisplay, a general network-transparent display client, used to attach/detach more displays on-the-fly.

There are three methods to install twin on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install twin Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install twin using apt-get by running the following command:

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

Install twin Using aptitude
