How To Install systemd-ui on Debian 9

In this tutorial we learn how to install systemd-ui on Debian 9.
What is systemd-ui
systemd-ui is:
systemd is a system and service manager for Linux. It provides aggressive parallelization capabilities, uses socket and D-Bus activation for starting services, offers on-demand starting of daemons, keeps track of processes using Linux control groups, supports snapshotting and restoring of the system state, maintains mount and automount points and implements an elaborate transactional dependency-based service control logic.
systemd is compatible with SysV and LSB init scripts and can work as a drop-in replacement for sysvinit.
This package provides systemadm, the graphical frontend for systemd.
There are three methods to install systemd-ui on Debian 9. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install systemd-ui Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install systemd-ui using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install systemd-ui
Install systemd-ui Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install systemd-ui using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install systemd-ui
Install systemd-ui Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install systemd-ui using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install systemd-ui
How To Uninstall systemd-ui on Debian 9
To uninstall only the systemd-ui package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove systemd-ui
Uninstall systemd-ui And Its Dependencies
To uninstall systemd-ui and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove systemd-ui
Remove systemd-ui Configurations and Data
To remove systemd-ui configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge systemd-ui
Remove systemd-ui configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove systemd-ui configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge systemd-ui
