How To Install scanlogd on Ubuntu 22.04

on Ubuntu 22.04.
What is scanlogd
scanlogd is:
Scanlogd is a TCP port scan detection tool, originally designed to illustrate various attacks an IDS developer has to deal with, for a Phrack Magazine article. Thus, unlike some of the other port scan detection tools out there, scanlogd is designed to be totally safe to use.
This release of scanlogd can be built with support for one of several packet capture interfaces. In addition to the raw socket interface on Linux (which does not require any libraries), scanlogd is now aware of libnids and libpcap.
Debian’s version of scanlogd has been configured to use the raw socket interface on Linux.
There are three methods to install scanlogd
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude

After updating apt database, We can install scanlogd
using aptitude

sudo aptitude -y install scanlogd
How To Uninstall scanlogd on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the scanlogd
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove scanlogd
Uninstall scanlogd And Its Dependencies
To uninstall scanlogd
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove scanlogd
Remove scanlogd Configurations and Data
To remove scanlogd
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge scanlogd
Remove scanlogd configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove scanlogd
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
