How To Install r-cran-terra on Ubuntu 22.04

In this tutorial we learn how to install r-cran-terra on Ubuntu 22.04.
What is r-cran-terra
r-cran-terra is:
Methods for spatial data analysis with raster and vector data. Raster methods allow for low-level data manipulation as well as high-level global, local, zonal, and focal computation. The predict and interpolate methods facilitate the use of regression type (interpolation, machine learning) models for spatial prediction, including with satellite remote sensing data. Processing of very large files is supported. See the manual and tutorials on https://rspatial.org/terra/ to get started. ’terra’ is very similar to the ‘raster’ package; but ’terra’ can do more, is easier to use, and it is faster.
There are three methods to install r-cran-terra on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install r-cran-terra Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install r-cran-terra using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install r-cran-terra
Install r-cran-terra Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install r-cran-terra using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install r-cran-terra
Install r-cran-terra Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install r-cran-terra using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install r-cran-terra
How To Uninstall r-cran-terra on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the r-cran-terra package we can use the following command:
