How To Install quassel on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install quassel on Kali Linux.
What is quassel
quassel is:
Quassel is a modern, cross-platform, distributed IRC client, meaning that one or more clients can attach to and detach from the central core. It’s much like the popular combination of screen and a text-based IRC client such as WeeChat or irssi, but graphical.
This package provides the monolithic client. It contains both core and client and can be used like a traditional IRC client, without requiring an external core.
There are three methods to install quassel on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install quassel Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install quassel using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install quasselInstall quassel Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install quassel using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install quasselInstall quassel Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install quassel using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install quasselHow To Uninstall quassel on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the quassel package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove quasselUninstall quassel And Its Dependencies
To uninstall quassel and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove quasselRemove quassel Configurations and Data
To remove quassel configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge quasselRemove quassel configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove quassel configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge quasselDependencies
