How To Install pwauth on Kali Linux

What is pwauth

Pwauth is an authenticator designed to be used with mod_auth_external or mod_authnz_external and the Apache HTTP Daemon to support reasonably secure web authentication out of the system password database on most versions of Unix. Particularly - secure authentication against PAM.
There are three methods to install pwauth
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get

and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install pwauth Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install pwauth
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install pwauth

After updating apt database, We can install pwauth
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install pwauth
Install pwauth Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install pwauth
using aptitude

sudo aptitude -y install pwauth
How To Uninstall pwauth on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the pwauth
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove pwauth

To uninstall pwauth

sudo apt-get -y autoremove pwauth

configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge pwauth
