How To Install libpam0g on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libpam0g
on Kali Linux.
What is libpam0g
libpam0g is:
Contains the shared library for Linux-PAM, a library that enables the local system administrator to choose how applications authenticate users. In other words, without rewriting or recompiling a PAM-aware application, it is possible to switch between the authentication mechanism(s) it uses. One may entirely upgrade the local authentication system without touching the applications themselves.
There are three methods to install libpam0g
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libpam0g Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libpam0g
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libpam0g
Install libpam0g Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libpam0g
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libpam0g
Install libpam0g Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libpam0g
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libpam0g
How To Uninstall libpam0g on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the libpam0g
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libpam0g
Uninstall libpam0g And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libpam0g
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libpam0g
Remove libpam0g Configurations and Data
To remove libpam0g
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libpam0g
Remove libpam0g configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libpam0g
