How To Install puredata-import on Ubuntu 22.04

What is puredata-import
puredata-import is:
Aiming to provide a simplified Python-style import for Pure Data, this import object loads libraries as part of a patch. It will load anything that Pd considers a library, including libraries that are defined by Pd loaders like ’libdir'.
This package is meant only for vanilla Pure Data, as pd-extended provides this functionality built-in.
There are three methods to install puredata-import
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install puredata-import Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install puredata-import
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install puredata-import

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install puredata-import
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install puredata-import
Install puredata-import Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install puredata-import
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install puredata-import
How To Uninstall puredata-import on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the puredata-import
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove puredata-import
Uninstall puredata-import And Its Dependencies
To uninstall puredata-import
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove puredata-import
Remove puredata-import Configurations and Data
To remove puredata-import
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge puredata-import
