How To Install placement-api on Ubuntu 22.04

What is placement-api
placement-api is:
OpenStack is a reliable cloud infrastructure. Its mission is to produce the ubiquitous cloud computing platform that will meet the needs of public and private cloud providers regardless of size, by being simple to implement and massively scalable.
OpenStack Placement provides an HTTP service for managing, selecting, and claiming providers of classes of inventory representing available resources in a cloud.
This package provides the placement API frontend for managing resource providers.
There are three methods to install placement-api on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install placement-api Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install placement-api using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install placement-api
Install placement-api Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install placement-api using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install placement-api
Install placement-api Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install placement-api using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install placement-api
How To Uninstall placement-api on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the placement-api package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove placement-api
Uninstall placement-api And Its Dependencies
To uninstall placement-api and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove placement-api
Remove placement-api Configurations and Data
To remove placement-api configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge placement-api
Remove placement-api configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove placement-api configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge placement-api
