In this tutorial we learn how to install patatt on Ubuntu 22.04.

What is patatt

patatt is:

This utility allows an easy way to add end-to-end cryptographic attestation to patches sent via mail. It does so by adapting the DKIM email signature standard to include cryptographic signatures via the X-Developer-Signature email header.

If your project workflow doesn’t use patches sent via email, then you don’t need this and should simply start signing your tags and commits.

There are three methods to install patatt on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install patatt Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install patatt using apt-get by running the following command:
