How To Install pampi on Ubuntu 22.04
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install pampi
on Ubuntu 22.04.
What is pampi
pampi is:
PAMPI is a free software to create presentations easily.
presentations are written in text files,
- so they can be modified easily
- the files syntax (Markdown) is easily learnt
- many examples of usable Markdown are available at https://enacit1.epfl.ch/markdown-pandoc They are converted to web pages (HTML files)
- one can view them with a browser
- one can publish them online, grab them on a USB stick, etc. In PAMPI’s interface, the Markdown file is displaied in the left side and on can view the result in the right side.
Every step of a presentation can be located in any position in a 3D space
- one provides its coordinates
- one can specify its zoom factor
- one can specify rotations Maths can be authored with KaTeX.

There are three methods to install pampi
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install pampi Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install pampi
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install pampi
Install pampi Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install pampi
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install pampi
Install pampi Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install pampi
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install pampi
How To Uninstall pampi on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the pampi
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove pampi
Uninstall pampi And Its Dependencies
To uninstall pampi
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove pampi
Remove pampi Configurations and Data
To remove pampi
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge pampi
